EAST WALKER RIVER

Walker River Outfitters offers great fishing opportunities in the Eastern Sierra. We chose the East Walker River as our home water for a reason. The river is located north of Bridgeport on Highway 182 and crosses into Nevada about 7 miles later for another 15 miles of great fishing. The East Walker holds Browns, Rainbows, Cutthroat, Whitefish and Carp. There are some great fish in this river and not everyone is catching them. You begin to learn a lot about a river when you spend every day on it and this allows us to provide you the best guided trip possible. The East Walker has special regulations. Due to new regulations implemented March 1, 2021, the river is now only open from the last Saturday in April to November 15th, there is a two fish limit (minimum 18 inches and barbs are now allowed). Abundant bait fish populations keep the lunkers well fed. On top of that, this tail water has incredible populations of midges, mayflies, and caddis to stuff the fish even more. Day in and day out, nymphing is the most effective technique, but don't forget your dries! Every year we have hatches that bring nice fish to the surface. If you like to huck the big ugly stuff, this is your river. Streamers consistently hook the biggest fish of the year. Click here for current flows.
